Another poem by MATSUO BASHOU is,
閑さや 岩にしみ入る 蝉の声(しずかさや いわにしみいる せみのこえ)
Literal Translation: Oh, the quiet, soaks into the rock, the cicada voice.
1) Free Translation: The surround is quiet, so it looks like low volume voices of cicada soak into the rock.
2) Structure: 5-7-5
3) Human Being or Human Society: Human being, the author
4) Nature or Season: Season, a cicada is KIGO of summer.
5) Motivation of making HAIKU: He thinks it looks like the voices of cicada soak into the rock.
6) Technics: This is metaphor, the sound soaks into solid rock. He may know the sound wave is transmitted into deep area.
The voices of cicadas are high volume and noisy usually, but now low and slight volume.
This poem is similar to the previous frog poem. He uses both of vision and hearing very well.
