ＨＡＩＫＵ ｅａｓｙ
Next poet is MASAOKA SHIKI(1867-1902), SHIKI is another name of lesser cuckoo whose mouth are red, then "the bird of crying and spitting blood".
SHIKI had his lungs affected, so he lives not long. One poem of the genius is,
柿くへば 鐘が鳴るなり 法隆寺（かきくえば かねがなるなり ほうりゅうじ）
Literal Translation: when eating persimmon, Oh, the bell rings, HOURYUUJI.
1) Free Translation: When I eat a persimmon, the bell of HOURYUUJI rings.
2) Structure: 5-7-5
3) Human Being or Human Society: Human society, the author in the countryside landscape.
4) Nature or Season: Season, a persimmon is KIGO of fall.
5) Motivation of making HAIKU: NODOKA, even if there is a famous temple HOURYUUJI in NARA, the scenery is quiet.
6) Technics: かきくえば is similar to かきくけこ, which is the characters of Japanese language. The poem rhymes "ka" and "ka". The contrast of eating sound and bell.
The persimmons must be something hard, so it sounds if you eat them.
HORYUJI is a famous old old temple, anyone knows if he doesn't visit it at all. The temple was established by famous prince, SHOUTOKU-TAISHI. NARA is country home.
